Bryson
Bryson joined ScaleTrains in 2025 with over four years of experience in distribution and journalism within the industry. As part of the marketing team, he manages the weekly newsletter, social media, and collaborates across departments to promote new products. Outside of work, he enjoys model railroading, railfanning, plane spotting, hockey games, races, and concerts.


Drayton
Drayton joined ScaleTrains in 2019, bringing his background in video production and marketing to the Marketing Team. His role focuses on copywriting, video production, and social media, and he often appears in ScaleTrains’ YouTube content. A passionate HO scale modeler and railfan, he enjoys spending time trackside, building models, and with his wife, Rachel, and their daughter.


Jason
Jason joined ScaleTrains in September 2022 as the Senior Graphic Designer. In this role, he contributes to a wide range of creative projects, including graphic design, print advertising, event and show organization, creative concepting, and product packaging design. Outside of work, he enjoys collecting comic books and traveling with his family.


Lisa
Lisa joined the Marketing Team in 2022 and works as a Graphic Designer. Most of her work consists of putting together the graphic side of the Newsletter and general website updates. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and gardening.


Rory
Rory began working at ScaleTrains in March 2025. He is responsible for all photography and video production for ScaleTrains. Rory has enjoyed photography since childhood. In his free time, he enjoys building boats, spending time with his two dogs, Stanley and Phoebe, and hanging out with Lesley.
Product Development


Chris
Chris joined ScaleTrains in June 2023 following the acquisition of ExactRail, where he was Vice President of Product. He develops rolling stock and locomotive projects while managing legacy ExactRail products. His hobbies include photography, cabinetmaking, woodturning, LEGO building and collecting, and maintaining his N Scale Hudson Terminal layout featured in Railroad Model Craftsman.


Daniel
Daniel joined ScaleTrains at the beginning of 2023 as a member of the Warehouse Team. Recently he has transitioned to the Product Development team archiving research materials. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring a wide range of creative projects, including movies, comic books, music, 3D sculpting and printing, traditional painting, and drawing. While he’s not a railfan, Daniel is well-acquainted with trains of the cinematic variety – from Mystery Train and The Darjeeling Limited to Snowpiercer and Train to Busan.


Donnie
Donnie joined ScaleTrains in June 2022 as a Production Artist. Working remotely from Maryland, he creates artwork for locomotives and freight cars, including logos, lettering, and paint schemes. He has also contributed to other Product Development tasks, like prototype roster and detail photography. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time trackside, modeling CSX, watching baseball, and working on classic cars.


Joe
A founding member of ScaleTrains, he began his career with the company in 2014 and now serves as Director of Product Development. Originally hired as a graphic designer, his role has grown alongside the company’s expansion. Outside of work, he enjoys mountain biking, playing the drums, watching sci-fi and anime, gaming, collecting pop culture memorabilia, and spending time with his family and dogs.


Josh Si.
Josh hails from Alabaster, Alabama, and joined ScaleTrains in March 2023. He recently transitioned from Product Support to Product Development and, at 23, became one of the youngest Project Managers in the model railroad industry. His passion for trains came at an early age, introduced to the hobby by his father, Lee, who served as President of the L&N Historical Society for many years. Inspired by his father’s railfan adventures in the Florida panhandle, Josh models the L&N in HO Scale, set in the late 1970s, and enjoys railfanning CSX in his free time.


Kelley
Kelley began at ScaleTrains in June 2021 as a Project Manager on the Product Development team after decades in the industry. He oversees model selection, research, road names and numbers, and project guidance through development and production. In his free time, Kelley enjoys electronics repair, restoring arcade machines, metalworking, cooking, running, and spending time with his children and four cats.


Mark
Mark joined ScaleTrains in January 2017, where he provides tech support for customers across all product lines. His work includes troubleshooting guidance and collaborating with the Factory Team and ESU to develop sound and control files for ScaleTrains models. An avid hobbyist, Mark enjoys HO Scale and operates 1.5-inch scale ride-on trains. He is also a certified PADI Master Scuba Diver and loves spending time with his grandson.


Matt Ga.
Matt joined ScaleTrains in May 2021, when it acquired Fox Valley Models™. Since then, he has contributed to Product Development across multiple scales. He enjoys transforming ideas into tangible models and is passionate about railroading, both in model form and riding the real thing. Outside of trains, he spends time with his family and exploring the world with his children.


Matt Ge.
Matt Gentry joined ScaleTrains in February 2024 with over a decade of industry experience. He specializes in developing and improving locomotives and rolling stock, with a particular passion for unit trains. Outside of work, Matt is an avid railfan and frequently shares his photography online. Go check out his Flickr page, though he admits to being behind on editing his photos.


Matt K.
Joining ScaleTrains in early 2025, Matt King brings his creative talent to the Product Development team as a Production Artist. A Virginia native, Matt previously designed paint schemes for Titan Trains. He now works on ScaleTrains projects in HO, N, and S Scale. Outside of work, he enjoys developing his British model railway layout and gaming with friends.


Mike
As a ScaleTrains co-founder, Mike has been an integral member of the Product Development team since 2014, contributing to the creation and refinement of all-new models in HO, N, and S Scale. Outside of work, he enjoys railfanning in the arid California wilderness, capturing the sights and sounds of real trains in action on BNSF and Union Pacific lines.


Paul
A ScaleTrains co-founder, Paul brings extensive experience from Microscale Industries and Athearn in R&D and Product Development. A longtime prototype modeler, Paul is a member of the California Southern Model Railroad Club. His hobbies include reading, aircraft modeling, photography, and following Southern Pacific and Santa Fe railroads.


Scott
Scott joined the ScaleTrains team in August 2017 as a Production Artist, where he creates detailed artwork for prototype locomotives and freight cars. He often collaborates with his brother, Mike, to ensure each model features prototypically accurate paint schemes. Outside of work, Scott enjoys paddleboarding and caring for his collection of fancy goldfish.
Product Support


Chris
Chris joined the Product Support team in 2025 as a Technician, a role in which he repairs locomotives and freight cars – returning them to "like new" condition. Although he’s not a railfan, Chris appreciates the attention to detail of ScaleTrains’ models. Outside of work, he enjoys being with his family and is involved in the Community Fellowship Media Department.


Josh Sc.
Josh joined the ScaleTrains team in 2024 and works in Product Support. His daily responsibilities include assisting customers with technical questions, managing inbound and outbound repairs, and overseeing general departmental workflow. Outside of work, Josh enjoys spending time with his two Dachshunds, exploring and photographing the outdoors, as well as working on models, vintage trucks, and full-size steam locomotives.


Logan
Logan joined ScaleTrains in March 2024 as part of the Marketing Team. He recently transitioned to Product Support, repairing and programming models under warranty. He continues to provide support for the Marketing Team, focusing on content creation and product photography. Outside of work, he enjoys railroad photography, attending model train shows, video editing, golf, and motorsports.


Wade
Wade joined ScaleTrains in the summer of 2018, initially handling product repairs, model photography, and video production. Over time, he shifted focus to Product Support while still assisting with photography and videos. Even at retirement age, Wade remains passionate about model trains, photographing British steam locomotives, and enjoys spending time with his wife, adult children, and grandchildren.
Sales


Lorrie
Lorrie joined ScaleTrains in April 2018, starting in the warehouse before transitioning into her current role as Sales Assistant. She handles web merchandising, processes customer orders, and is often the friendly “southern” voice answering customer phone calls. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling the world, exploring new places, is interested in all things paranormal, and taking part in seasonal activities like DIY projects, thrifting, and attending festivals. She also loves spending quality time with family and friends.


Marlen
Marlen joined ScaleTrains in 2017 as a Sales Manager, handling purchasing, retailer relations, and direct customer support, including preorders and model railroad advice. Outside of work, he is dedicated to his family’s pack of Siberian Huskies, and enjoys camping, modeling modern Union Pacific, and orchard work. Marlen is also President of the Vol State Railway, a model railroad club located within ScaleTrains HQ.
Warehouse


Von
Von joined the team in 2025 as the Warehouse Lead. He oversees all warehouse operations including pick, pack & shipping. In his free time he enjoys traveling and spending time with his daughter.
Administration


Shane
President
Shane is a co-founder and the President of ScaleTrains. His role is to support the ScaleTrains™ team and chart the company's future. Shane is a lifelong model railroader and has been a part of the Hobby Industry for more than 40 years at all levels: store owner, wholesaler, and manufacturer. Outside of work, Shane enjoys collecting model trains, IndyCar racing, driving the mountain backroads with his wife in their convertible Mustang, and spoiling his young granddaughter.


Michelle
Office Manager
Michelle is the Office Manager for ScaleTrains. Married to Shane for over 30 years, Mrs. Wilson has been an integral part of the ScaleTrains team since 2014, experienced in all facets of the business. Recently, she traveled alongside Shane and their beloved dog, Bear, for the ScaleTrains Road Trip™, where they visited over 100 train clubs and museums. Outside of ScaleTrains, her hobbies include crafts like quilting and scrapbooking. She also enjoys spending time with friends and spoiling her granddaughter.


Bruce
Operations Manager
Bruce joined ScaleTrains in June 2016 to lead warehouse operations and now serves as Operations Manager, overseeing day-to-day company operations and improving processes across departments. While not a modeler, he enjoys the business side of the hobby and engaging with the railfan community. Bruce hails from Polk County, Tennessee, and outside of ScaleTrains, he serves at Community Fellowship Church, where he has been a member since 2013.
